Some people may abuse DXM or “robotrip” because they mistakenly believe it’s a safe way to get high. Cough medicine is relatively easy to get, and because it’s medicine, teens may think abusing it is safer than illegal drugs. Of course, this is not true. Teens also think DXM is cheap to get, but don’t realize that the consequences of DXM abuse can have serious health and social implications.
